University Health System in San Antonio, Texas, includes a 604-bed academic public hospital. Together with physicians from The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, it serves the residents of Bexar County. More than half of the Health System's patients are Hispanic (61%).

Washington Hospital Center is a 907-bed not-for-profit major teaching hospital located in Washington, DC. Washington Hospital Center operates one of the largest cardiovascular programs in the nation. It is located in a primary service area that provides care to a large African American and Hispanic population.
