Victor Villagra, MD, FACP

Dr.
Victor Villagra is the founder and president of Health & Technology
Vector, Inc., a consulting company in population health, technology
assessment and delivery system redesign. Dr. Villagra works with
senior management teams of a diverse client base in the US, Europe,
Japan and Latin America including managed care organizations,
governments, academic institutions, foundations, large employers,
pharmaceutical companies, disease management organizations, specialty
professional societies, insurance companies and start-up health
care ventures. Dr. Villagra is the former National Medical Director
at CIGNA HealthCare and past-president of the Disease Management
Association of America. He has served as an advisor to the Department
of Health and Human Services and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid
in a variety of subjects including the Medicare Modernization
Act Chronic Care Initiative. Dr. Villagra received his M.D. degree
from the University of Costa Rica, where he graduated at the
top of his class. He trained in Internal Medicine at the University
of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he also served as Chief
Medical Resident. Subsequently he completed a Faculty Development
Fellowship in General Internal Medicine at the same institution.
Dr. Villagra is board-certified in Internal Medicine and is a
Fellow of the American College of Physicians. He holds a faculty
appointment in the Department of Medicine at the University of
Connecticut Health Center. Dr. Villagra serves on multiple boards
of directors including ProHealth Physicians Inc., Genomas, Inc.,
and the Hartford Symphony Orchestra.
