Sears is the QI Leader for Expecting Success.
Ms. Sears has over 30 years experience in the health care arena
in both hospital and physician office based practices. Her experience
with hospital quality improvement initiatives includes clinical
pathway and practice standards development, data collection, and
analysis for such projects as CMS/JCAHO Health Care Initiatives,
NRMI, SCCM Project Impact and nursing competency assessment programs.
Ms. Sears has worked as a clinical nurse specialist in both critical
care and medical-surgical units.
Her management experience also includes medical staff services
oversight, medical staff peer review, physician recruitment and
physician billing and coding. Additionally, she has managed several
intensivist groups in the Washington, DC area. Most recently,
Ms. Sears served as a member of the Washington, DC Team for the
Patient Safety Improvement Corp, a collaborative jointly sponsored
by AHRQ and the VA. Ms. Sears received her diploma in nursing
from Henry Ford Hospital School of Nursing and her BSN and Masters
of Science, Nursing with a clinical specialist trauma and critical
care focus from the University of Maryland. She is certified in
critical care nursing and a member of ACCP, SCCM and the AACN.
